MPS I (mucopolysaccharidosis type 1 or Hurler syndrome) is an inherited condition that involves the fourth chromosome. Symptoms of MPS I are thick lips, eye problems, and coarsening of facial features that become progressively worse. Treatment is focused on treating the signs and symptoms of the syndrome.
